  • An out-of-state man faces an attempted murder charge after a New Year's Eve shooting outside a bar in the western North Dakota oil patch town of Gladstone.
A judge has set bond for 44-year-old Robert York at $250,000. Court documents do not list an attorney for him. Documents list his home as being in Hedrick, Iowa, but authorities say he came to North Dakota from the Phoenix area in Arizona.
Stark County State's Attorney Tom Henning says York allegedly tried to shoot Gladstone resident Justin Willis in the face with a sawed-off shotgun after an apparent bar fight. Two brothers from Iowa are charged as accomplices. Henning says the three had been doing concrete work in the area.
The prosecutor says Willis suffered only minor injuries and was not hospitalized.
