  • Aaron Mark Applequist died on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, Mn of natural causes, at age 55.  He was born Sept. 4, 1957 to Rudolph A. Applequist and Marjorie [Rustad] Applequist in Crookston, and was baptized and confirmed in the Hafslo Lutheran Church, rural Crookston. His mother was stricken ill in 1959 and he went to live with an aunt and uncle, Mayme and George Gilbertson, at Duluth, Mn.  He later came back to rural Crookston to live with his siblings and uncles, Melvin and John. He graduated from Fertile School in 1975.  He lived in the Minneapolis area after graduating, with many of those years spent working for a landscape contractor.  In the late 1980s he became disabled, yet still worked part time at various jobs. Despite his illness he was a kind, very friendly, thoughtful, and gentle GIANT, with a deep faith in God.
