Event draws large crowds both days.

After a few years' absence, the Christmas Stable Communion service returned to the U of M, Crookston's UTOC building on Dec. 21 and 22 and if the turnout was any indication, will continue for many more seasons. Under the theme "Prince of Peace," the program involved many members of all faiths from the community telling the Christmas story through word, music and dance in a natural setting complete with several live animals. A communion service followed the program, although Saturday's was cut short due to a fire alarm sounding just prior to the start of the communion.

Sponsors of the event are Trinity Lutheran, United Methodist and Presbyterian churches. George and Rae French served as coordinators. Those wishing to donate for future services can send checks to the Trinity Lutheran Church Stable Communion Fund.
