Pelican Rapids' Ryan Bruggeman scored 33 points as the No. 2 ranked team in Class AA beat the Pirates 73-53 in Pelican Rapids Thursday in a Section 8AA contest.

Tucker Forsgren was Pelican Rapids' next highest scorer with ten points.
The game got off to a bad start for the Pirates as senior Brett Delage, Crookston’s top scorer last season, re-injured his knee that he initially injured during the football season.
Pelican Rapids led 38-22 at halftime and outscored Crookston 35-31 in the second half.
The Pirates are now 3-3 on the season and will compete in the 30th annual Northwest Russ Smith Holiday Classic in Thief River Falls. The tournament begins Thursday with Crookston facing Warren-Alvarado-Oslo at 2:15 p.m.
