  • The Pirates earned their third win of the season Friday, pummelling the Perham Yellowjackets 67-30 in Perham. Crookston led 44-14 at halftime of the game between Section 8AA opponents.
     
    Now at 3-1 on the season, the Pirates were led in scoring by sophomores Brooke Heggie, 16 points, Sydney Boike, 14 points, and Danica Brekken, 12 points. Senior Erica Samuelson added nine, while sophomore Amber Froeber had five.
     
    Perham's Analea Erickson had 12 points.
     
    Next up, the Pirates host a pair of big rivalry games this week against East Grand Forks on Tuesday and Thief River Falls on Thursday. The Class AAA Green Wave are 0-4 on the season, while the Class AAA Prowlers are 9-0 and ranked No. 10. Both contests tip off at 7:30 p.m.
