The Crookston High School Music Department presented its 13th annual Classic Noel dinner and concert Sunday, Dec. 9 at the school. The evening featured a candlelit dinner catered from the Irishman's Shanty and served by music students, student ensembles serenading diners with Christmas music, a silent auction and a concert full of holiday selections.
Kyle Entzel directed the CHS Orchestra and Christopher Brandt directed a wind ensemble, which was the first time the band had a presence in Classic Noel. The CHS Pop and Concert Choirs performed under the direction of Belinda Fjeld and accompanied by Carol Montague, who played her last concert with the students. After faithfully playing the piano for student choir performances and contests for several years, Montague is leaving Crookston to pursue other adventures with her husband, Bill, who has also stepped down as a county commissioner for 12 years.
