  • A cat found near a gas station in Jamestown has tested positive for rabies.
KOVC radio reports that the cat was tested Thursday at the state lab in Bismarck.
Board of Animal Health officials are asking residents for help identifying anyone who may have been exposed to the cat. The adult female cat was an orange and white tabby with long hair.
Pet owners who believe one of their pets may have been exposed to the rabid cat should contact their local veterinarian or the State Veterinarian's Office.
Officials say anyone bitten or exposed to the cat's saliva should contact a doctor or the North Dakota Department of Health.
