It's about that time of year again, the holidays are right around the corner. Kicking off their holiday season, the Crookston High School Music Departments will be hosting their 13th Annual Classic Noel on Sunday, Dec. 9 at the high school.
The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for this event with dinner being served at 6 p.m., and the concert beginning 7:30 p.m. Once guests arrive and are escorted to their seats, they will be serenaded by various ensembles made up of high school music students. At 6 p.m., dinner will be served and those who have purchased $20 tickets for the night will be able to enjoy a meal catered by Paul Gregg and Irishman's Shanty including baked Hawaiian ham cooked with brown sugar and pineapple, a baked potato, mixed veggies, dinner rolls, a tossed salad and chocolate mint ice cream for dessert.
While guests enjoy their candlelight dinner, the annual "Silent Auction" will also be going on in the commons where baskets filled with items provided by local businesses and individuals will be up for grabs. New this year, poinsettias will be available for purchase from D & D's Garden Center for $15, with $5 being donated to the music department.
At 7:30 p.m., the final event of the night will be held in the auditorium, the main concert. The high school's orchestra and choir will perform their separate pieces then come together to perform Joy to the World and end with the traditional Peace Peace under the direction of Kyle Entzel and Belinda Fjeld. Tickets for the concert only can be purchased at the door, $4 for adults and $3 for students.
There is limited seating in the high school's commons so if you are interested in taking part in the whole Classic Noel event, the Crookston High School Music Department encourages you to reserve your $20 tickets at Montague's Flower Shop, Crookston Floral, Four Seasons Clothing, the high school office or by purchasing a ticket from a CHS music student.
