  • Warroad senior Kayla Gardner posted a seven-point night (3 goals, 4 assists) as the Warriors thumped the Pirates 10-0 Tuesday in Warroad.

    Warroad senior Sierra Hanowski had three goals, junior Lynn Astrup had two goals and two assists and senior Lisa Marvin had a goal and two assists.
     
    In the most recent Class A rankings Warroad, now 6-1-1 on the season, is on top but they are making a case to be ranked in Class AA too. The Warriors had beaten the No. 6 and No. 7 ranked teams in Class AA, tied the No. 3 team and lost 2-1 to the top-ranked team, Minnetonka.
     
    Pirate eighth grader Lexie Cormican recorded 12 saves before being pulled in the second period for junior Sidney Erickson, who posted 12 saves.
     
    Danielle Knott had eight saves in goal for Warroad.
     
    The Pirates fall to 3-3 on the season and will host Roseau Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
