A handful of event highlights
Calling all moms, grandmas, and aunts! Give the perfect holiday present by giving the gift of time to that special someone by purchasing them tickets to the Gala for Girls.
An abundance of media and research exists about the importance of fathers and adult male role models in children’s lives. This buzz along with the very successful 2012 Gala for Girls event helped in the creation of the 5th Annual Gala for Girls: Kicking It Up for Girls. The event will be held on Friday, Feb. 1, 2013 from 5:30 to 8:30pm at the National Guard Armory in Crookston.
This special event is for girls in grades K-6 and their dad, uncle, grandpa or other adult male role model. For just $35 the couple can enjoy a souvenir photo, a sit-down dinner, a special gift, and an evening of memorable dancing to create memories that will last a lifetime.
Registration is now open. Contact Sarah Reese or Sue Thompson at Polk County Public Health 218-281-3385 for more details. Registration is limited so register early. The first 15 paid registrations will be eligible to sit at the Table of Honor during the event. A drawing will be held and the winning couple will be notified.
The event is sponsored by the Polk County Child Abuse Prevention Council/Parents Helping Parents along with many community volunteers.
