Giants Ridge set for Saturday opening

The Giants Ridge ski mountain in northeastern Minnesota is set to open this weekend.

The ski area in Biwabik (by-WAH'-bik) will be open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Warm weather had earlier prompted Giants Ridge to postpone the opening of its ski area.

The Mesabi Daily News (http://bit.ly/Tq0YzF ) reports the resort will be open Saturdays and Sundays until opening seven days a week beginning on Dec. 21.
