A Crookston man was arrested early one morning last week after fleeing from Crookston Police in a stolen vehicle.

    According to a CPD report, officers arrested Thomas Staff Jr., of Crookston, after receiving a report at 2:43 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21 of a stolen 2001 Dodge Ram pickup, and subsequently spotting Staff heading south on South Washington in the stolen vehicle. The pickup is owned by Erin Dooher and Ronald Halligan, both of Crookston.

    Assisted by Polk County deputies, officers pursued the pickup to 300th Street SW, where it went into the ditch. Staff was arrested at the scene and charges of vehicle theft, fleeing police, damage to property, possession of controlled substance and second degree DUI are pending.
