A Crookston native, she passed away Nov. 22.

Elona M. Otterbein, age 62, passed away on November 22, 2012, after a long battle with cancer. She was known as “Noni” to her friends and family. She was born on Feb. 4, 1950 in Crookston, MN. She was the eldest child of Lyle and Elvie (Sundhuasen) Quist.

After graduating from Central High School in Crookston, she lived in Grand Forks, ND and Crookston before she moved to New York City in 1970. She met her husband, Donald while living in New York. They were married at Camp Lejeune, NC on April 12th 1971. After he retired from the military they decided to move to Vancouver, WA. She was working as a Coach Operator for C-Tran in Vancouver until her death.

She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Donald A. Otterbein Sr., 2 sons Troy S. (Raquel) Otterbein of Baton Rouge, LA and Donald A. Otterbein Jr. of Hopkins, MN, and a daughter, Tara A. Campbell of Keewatin, MN. She has 3 grandchildren, Alex and Hartleigh (children of Tara) and Ezequiel (son of Troy), her father, Lyle Quist of Crookston, MN and sister Vivian (Duane)  Kaiser of Bemidji, MN and Sister-In-Law Anna Quist of Redmond, OR. She was preceded in death by her mother Elvie Quist and her brother Duane Quist.
