On its website devoted to contract negotiations, American Crystal Sugar Company said there could soon be another vote by locked out workers, although nothing has been confirmed.
According to a statement posted on www.ACSCcontracttalks.com, Crystal representatives met with the Bakery, Confectionary, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers union's bargaining committee on Nov. 15, where the committee asked questions about Crystal management's final contract offer and representatives answered them.
"Subsequent to the meeting, American Crystal has received indications (but not a formal notification) that the BCTGM may conduct a vote on December 1, 2012," the statement said.
Approximately 1,300 union members have not returned to work since the company locked them out Aug. 1, 2011, after they rejected management's contract offer. They rejected the offer again in November 2011 and in June. BCTGM representatives told management at a Sept. 5 meeting that they did not plan another vote.
