The weather is expected to get colder this weekend, allowing crews to resume snow-making.

Warm weather is prompting Giants Ridge in northeastern Minnesota to postpone the opening of its ski area.

The Biwabik (by-WAH'-bik) resort says it will not open its ski area this Friday. The Mesabi Daily News (http://bit.ly/T2eXvU) reports Giants Ridge has tentatively rescheduled the opening for Saturday, Dec. 1.

According to a posting on the resort's website and Facebook page, the weather is expected to get colder this weekend, allowing crews to resume snow-making.
