Magsam says hotel will add 24 rooms, conference center, exercise facility and wine/beer lounge.
Crookston's AmericInn Lodge & Suites is planning a major expansion in 2013, a project that includes 24 guest rooms, a conference center, exercise facility and beer and wine lounge.
General Manager Angie Magsam said construction could start in the spring, but she stressed that no firm date has been identified. She said the addition will be added onto the rear, with the resulting building being an "L" shape.
The local ownership group, Magsam said, has been pondering an expansion project for the past year. The hotel currently has 50 rooms, with half of those being larger suites.
Last month, Wisconsin-based Cobblestone Hotels announced plans to construct Cobblestone Inn & Suites on Crookston's north end. The 44-room facility will feature a pool, meeting room and beer and wine lounge.
