Maggie Perrel of New Germany, Minn. was a four-time All-Minnesota River Conference selection during her time with the Royals.
Minnesota, Crookston head volleyball coach Lee Anderson has announced the signing of Maggie Perrel of New Germany, Minn., to a National Letter of Intent. Perrel will begin competing for the Golden Eagles in the fall of 2013.
All signees are contingent upon admission to UMC and compliance with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA Eligibility Center.
Perrel is a 5-foot-11 right side hitter who competed at Watertown-Mayer High School. She was a four-time All-Minnesota River Conference selection during her time with the Royals. Perrel was named her team’s Most Valuable Player as a junior and a senior. She served as the team captain during her senior season. Perrel also currently competes on the club circuit for the Northern Lights Volleyball Club where she is a teammate of fellow signee Sierra Trost on the 17-Black team. Erin Schwarz, one of the other UMC signees, also competes for the Northern Lights Volleyball Club. Perrel’s club team claimed first-place at the Presidents' Day tournament in Omaha, Neb.
“Maggie is an outstanding volleyball player,” Anderson said. “Her athletic ability and tenacious attitude make her an excellent addition to the Golden Eagle Volleyball team. I think she will have a major impact right away and will be a mainstay on the court throughout her career.”
Perrel was born Oct. 14, 1994. She is the daughter of Dan and Dawn Perrel. She intends to be a pre-med major at UMC.
