Event focuses on Foundation's impact.
There was a large turnout for RiverView Foundation's Ninth Annual Philanthropy Day and Health Fair on Thursday, Nov. 15 consisting mostly of people eager to learn about the services provided for them at RiverView Health.
"The day went very well," said Kent Brunn, Foundation director at RiverView. Brunn received good feedback about Philanthropy day including comments at the noon luncheon and phone calls and emails later in the day.
"People generally appreciate that we're here to serve," said Brunn.
RiverView's staff promoted their services by providing free health screenings, wellness information in the morning, along with free blood pressure, blood cholestrol, blood sugar checks and bone density screenings. Flu shots were available for $30 at the North Clinic. Staff members were also on hand throughout the day to answer questions about services available at RiverView Health, which was the main goal for the day.
"Raising money wasn't the focus for the day," commented Brunn. "We were more concerned about raising the awareness of the services we have here to offer."
By raising awareness of their services provided, RiverView continues to serve the community by enhancing the quality of life of their patients.
"It's important that people know they're in a safe place here in our community," mentioned Brunn. "We need them to know that we're here to take care of any needs they may have, now or in the future."
