Prosecutors cite a lack of cooperation from the alleged victim on the eve of Wanner's trial.
Hennepin County prosecutors have dropped sexual molestation charges against Wayzata businessman William Wanner.
Prosecutors cite a lack of cooperation from the alleged victim on the eve of Wanner's trial. But Wanner's attorney calls the case a three-year witch hunt.
Wanner is the CEO of Wanner Industries. The 67-year-old was accused of allegedly molesting the 10-year-old girl at the Minneapolis Club pool and charged in January 2010 with two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct.
The Star Tribune (http://bit.ly/YKwdtI ) reports the girl submitted a sworn statement Friday saying, if called to testify, she would deny Wanner sexually abused her.
Wanner's attorney, Joe Friedberg, says the case never should have been brought in the first place.
Wanner says his personal and business reputation has been "greatly damaged," even though he is innocent.
