  • Bradley Francis Murphy, age 57, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on October 19, 2012 after a year long battle with cancer.
    Brad, formerly of the Fisher, Crookston, Minnesota area, was born on March 9, 1955 in Crookston to Roy V. Murphy and Laura Donahue Murphy. He lived his early years in Fisher, Crookston, Rochester and Minneapolis, Minnesota. Brad moved to the Southwest in 1974. He was in the pest-control exterminating business in Tucson and Sedona, Arizona from 1981 to 1999. In 2000, Brad moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and formed the Brad Company Inc., a deep root fertilizing business which he owned and managed until his death.
    He served in the U.S. Navy from 1974 to 1977, receiving an honorable discharge with the rank of E3 on March 9, 1977 at Norfort, Virginia. Brad completed the General High School Requirements (GED) on July 25, 1976 while in the Navy.
    Brad loved his family, family gatherings, following college and professional sports and games of chance. His vagarious personality and positive spirit will be dearly missed.
    Brad is survived by a daughter, Jessica Jo Murphy, Jessica's mother JoAnn Murphy, and a grandson, Corbin, of Tucson, Arizona; two sisters, Debbie Herold of Rochester, Minn. and Mary (Richard) Seifert of Fishers, Indiana; four brothers, Les of Scottsdale, Arizona, Leigh (Chuck), Joan of Stewartville, Minn., Royal (Karen) of Crookston, Minn. and Ralph of Prior Lake, Minn., sister-in-law Audrey Murphy of Scottsdale, Arizona, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by daughter Marcella, his parents Roy and Laura, a brother Virgil Murphy, sister-in-law Jan Murphy and brother-in-law Ken Herold.
    A memorial was held Monday, October 22 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive, Las Vegas Nevada. Burial will be at Sedona Community Cemetery in Sedona, Arizona at a later date. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., Las Vegas in in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice or a charity of your choice.
