I should have included him in my 'Remembering Crookston' book.
I found the article about T.W. Thorson (Friday, Oct. 5 Times) very interesting! When I was a kid, and I'm now 84, I remember enjoying the band concerts Mr. Thorson conducted in Central Park in the summer. They were great!
I should have done an article about him when I wrote my "Remembering Crookston: A Minnesota Memoir" book.
Also, John Normann, whose dad use to have the photography business next to the Grand Theatre, will be celebrating his 80th birthday on December 1st at Gilbert, Arizona, where his wife, the former Alfreda Johnson, and he live. Family from all around the country are going to be gathering there to help him celebrate it, and that includes my wife Carmelle (the former Carmelle Johnson) and I, Chuck Dowdle.
