  • Men's golf: UMC’s Jesse Roscoe tied for 10th; Golden Eagles 10th at NSIC Championship

  • Sophomore Jesse Roscoe (Big Stone City, S.D.) is tied for 10th after the first two rounds of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championship Monday and Tuesday at Madden's on Gull Lake in Brainerd, Minn.
     
    As a team, the Golden Eagles are in 10th place out of 12 teams after shooting 90-over-par as a team. Roscoe has a two-round score of 158, which is 14-over-par. Roscoe is only five strokes back of the clubhouse leader.
     
    The NSIC Championship will continue April 13-14 at the Jewel Golf Club in Lake City, Minn.
     
    Sophomore Matt McClure (Grand Rapids, Minn.) finished the two days with a score of 169, which is 25-over-par. Senior Brandon Hanson (Devils Lake, N.D.) shot 27-over-par while Michael Roedl (R-Fr., Minneapolis, Minn.) turned in a score that was 29-over-par and sophomore Seth Heppner (Crookston, Minn.) shot 30-over-par.
     
    St. Cloud State University is in first place at 48-over-par over the two rounds. University of Sioux Falls is eight strokes back at 56-over-par. Jordan Mueller of Sioux Falls leads the field with a score of 153, which was nine-over-par. Tyler Kovisto of St. Cloud State and Kowan O'Keefe are two strokes back of Mueller.
