  • Take a deep breath, Purple fanatics. Your team is 4-1 and the Packers are reeling at 2-3.

Percy Harvin is being called the best player in the NFL, Adrian Peterson seems to have more juice each week, Kyle Rudolph is emerging, Christian Ponder is just what the doctor ordered and the defense seems to have went on Extreme NFL Makeover in the offseason.

All systems must be on go with the Purple, right? Hold on just a second. Who have the Vikings really beaten?

The 49ers, correct. Anybody else? Yes, the Lions but they were probably overrated to begin with. The Jaguars and Titans are not even worth mentioning.

The next five games up to the bye week on week 11 will be telling to see if these Vikings are for real. If they can win at least three of those you could probably punch your tickets for the playoffs. If they struggle and get hit by the injury bug it will have been a nice run.

So, enjoy the Vikings wins and the Packers struggles, but just remember, the Vikings will come back to the fold at some point.

Jim Noah is riding as high as the Vikings with his week five Fantasy Field Goal win, putting up 36 points and winning a three-way tiebreaker. Aaron Rodgers and Victor Cruz each gave him 18 points, while Adrian Peterson didn't record a touchdown.

Noah wins his choice of a free car wash, a free three-pack of tacos or a free pizza at Ampride Convenience Mart in Crookston.

Nice picking, Jimmy. As always, thanks to Ampride for sponsoring and thanks to all who played.

Get those picks in for week six with the combined score of the Vikings-Redskins game.
