  • A Fort Totten man accused of beating two young boys and setting fire to the bedroom where they slept has pleaded guilty to three lesser charges.
The Forum newspaper reports (http://bit.ly/Pk8Ztz) that 30-year-old Lyndon Greybear pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated assault and one count of endangering by fire or explosion.
Assistant Cass County State's Attorney Leah Viste says prosecutors agreed to drop two counts of attempted murder as part of the plea agreement.
The attorneys say that psychologists found that Greybear was experiencing an "intoxication-related psychosis" during the Nov. 13 incident involving his cousin's two children.
Both boys were seriously injured and hospitalized. They've since been released.
Authorities say after the incident, Greybear started a second fire on a door at an apartment building a block away.
