  • The Pirates were shut out 7-0 Saturday by the Hibbing/Chisholm Bluejackets on the road in Hibbing in the regular season finale.
     
    The Bluejackets scored five first-half goal and two in the second half. Leah Coughlin and Lexi Sosalla each scored a pair of goals for the Bluejackets.
     
    Pirate junior goalkeeper Carly Welter recorded 19 saves, while Hibbing/Chisholm's Mikelle Dougherty had five stops.
     
    Crookston falls to 1-13 on the season and will await the official Section 8A seeds. The Pirates will likely face No. 2 seeded Bemidji in the opening round with top seeded East Grand Forks receiving a bye. The section playoffs begin Thursday, Oct. 11.
