  • The Golden Eagles were swept on the weekend in a pair of 3-1 matches against Northern State and MSU Moorhead on Friday and Saturday in Crookston.

    Next Friday and Saturday the Golden Eagles host Sioux Falls and Southwest Minnesota State.

    UMC vs. NSU
    Despite coming out of the gate and taking the first set, the Golden Eagles fell 3-1 (19-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-21) to Northern State Friday.
     
    Senior outside hitter Amanda Swann led the Golden Eagles with 16 kills. Sophomore outside hitter Brittany Looker chipped in 11 kills and added 17 digs to record her eighth double-double of the season. Junior setters Lindsey Rees and Paige Mitchell again split the duties with Mitchell notching 27 assists and Rees adding 13. Junior libero Chelsea Wiesner led the team, with 23 digs. Junior outside hitter Alexandra Skeeter chipped in 13 digs and Mitchell added 10. Sophomore middle hitter Morgan VanGerpen led the team with eight block assists while Rees added four.
     
    UMC vs. MSUM
    For the second-straight match Minnesota, Crookston took the first set but went on to lose 3-1 (24-26, 25-17, 25-23, 25-21), this time to MSU Moorhead.
     
    Skeeter led the team with 12 kills and added a double-double with 21 digs. Looker also added 12 kills while Swann and junior middle hitter Katie Miedtke chipped in ten kills. Mitchell recorded 29 assists and Rees posted 20. Wiesner posted a season-high 27 digs.
