Many kids don't get enough food at home over the weekends.

With the school year underway, that means some kids who might not get enough to eat at home over the weekends are taking home backpacks filled with food from North Country Food Bank.

This is the third year Highland School has been involved in the program.

On Friday, members of the Pirate girls' soccer team helped bring the first delivery of food to Highland.

School social worker Tara Miller reports that approximately 100 Highland students participate in the Backpack Program each school year.
