  • Thursday's winter storm may have contributed to a fatal head-on collision on Minnesota Highway 59 in Pennington County that killed a Plummer woman.
Madonna M. Lallier, 63, was pronounced dead at Sanford Health in Thief River Falls following the crash.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Lallier was driving north in a 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser while Elwin D. Ness, 54, of Middle River, was driving a 1999 Dodge Ram pickup south on Hwy. 59. The two vehicles collided head on, but it is undetermined as to which vehicle crossed the center line. Ness suffered injuries described by the State Patrol as non-life threatening.
The Pennington County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.
