Program designed for seniors and adults with medical issues.

The Villa St. Vincent Wellness Center held its grand opening Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 3), featuring demonstrations of exercise equipment and techniques, speakers, prizes and smoothies.

The Villa wellness program club is designed to meet the needs of those 55 and older as well as younger individuals with medical conditions and their doctor's approval. The center is available to the greater Crookston community in addition to Villa residents, tenants and clients.

"Our wellness center is equipped with state-of-the-art exercise machines that are specifically geared toward older adults and people with medical conditions for ease of use," said Erica Hamre, wellness director/exercise physiologist with the Villa.

The Villa's Seamless Transitions Program, she explained, is and innovative and exciting approach that offers a smooth transition from hospital discharge, through post acute rehabilitation, back home and beyond. The wellness center will be the epicenter of recovery throughout the post acute rehab stay and during intense outpatient wellness activities following the home discharge.
