  • Bemidji scored ten goals in the first half and steamrolled Crookston 11-0 in Bemidji.

"We didn't come ready to play and they got it after right from the get go," explained Pirate Head Coach Sarah Reese. "Our goalkeeper was left out to dry several times. At halftime, we refocused and the second half we played better. We lacked focus, determination and intensity. Melida Argueta played a fabulous game despite the score."

Pirate senior goalkeeper Sydney Luckow made 11 saves in the first half, while junior Carly Welter made nine saves, playing some of the first half and all the second half.

The Lumberjacks were led in scoring by Josie Spry with four goals, and Amber Goeb and Emily Boyer each scoring with two goals.

Cassidy Morris recorded five saves in goal for Bemidji.

The Pirates fall to 1-11 on the season. They host East Grand Forks today at 4 p.m. and travel to Moorhead on Thursday. The regular season finishes up Saturday at Hibbing.

"These are big games all this week. We need focus and intensity," said Coach Reese.
