  • A decorated military veteran from North Dakota has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for sexually abusing a boy over a six-year period.
    Adam Hamilton, of Larimore, was charged in Grand Forks County with continual sexual abuse of a minor. He pleaded guilty in May.
    Judge Joel Medd says the nature of the crime called for a long sentence.
    The Grand Forks Herald reports (http://bit.ly/OA1C1f) that the victim asked the judge Monday to sentence the 34-year-old Hamilton to 35 years in prison.
    Hamilton is a 12-year veteran of the Air Force who spent several years at the Grand Forks base. He was deployed to the Middle East in 2002.
