A man accused of dealing heroin in North Dakota has been sentenced to nearly two years in prison.

Kevin Magnuson was charged in federal court with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance. He pleaded guilty in June.

Authorities say Magnuson travelled to the Minneapolis area to obtain heroin and brought it to North Dakota and elsewhere for distribution.

Magnuson faced a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison. U.S. District Judge Ralph Erickson sentenced him to 20 months.
