It all wraps up with an eventful Oct. 13.
Fall is here and that means it's once again time for the Corn Stalk Jamboree. The Crookston streets are currently being decorated with cornstalks, which will be judged during an all day event on Oct. 13. If someone wants to purchase a cornstalk, they are $10 and can be bought at the Crookston Chamber of Commerce. However, in a new twist this year, if anyone wants the Chamber to set up the basic stalks for them and take them down afterward, the cost is $15. Judging will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 13 for the "People's Choice" of the best decorated.
As part of the Oct. 13 festivities, there will be several other fun events going on for the community to enjoy at American Federal green space. There will be jewelry and craft vendors, a quilt raffle, races, pony rides, petting zoos, a Halloween photo area, and music, provided by The WoodPicks. There will also be a farmer's market, where there will be vegetables, fresh breads and meats. There will even be fresh doughnuts and lefse made on-site. Free homemade vegetable soup and bread or crackers will be available, provided a donation is made to the food shelf.
In case of inclement weather, this event will be held at the Crookston Armory.
