  • Girls' swimming: Pirates edged in road dual

  • The Pirates will compete against Thief River Falls in a dual Thursday in Thief River Falls.

  • The Pirates were edged 99-81 Tuesday by Warroad/Roseau/Greenbush-Middle River.
     
    Finishing first for the Pirates were the 200 medley relay team and the 200 freestyle relay team of Abbie Anderson, Maddie Nicholls, Haley Roed and Marietta Geist. Anderson, a senior, also placed first in the 50 freestyle and the 100 butterfly. Roed, a freshman, took first places in the 100 freestyle and the 10 backstroke.
     
    Freshman Sierra Pry finished runner-up in the 500 freestyle, Nicholls, an eighth grader, took second in the 100 breaststroke, Geist, a freshman, finished second in the 200 freestyle and the 400 freestyle relay team of Pry, Merran Dingmann, Kate MacGregor and Nicholls took second.
     
    The Pirates will compete against Thief River Falls in a dual Thursday in Thief River Falls. On Saturday they will compete in the Fosston/Bagley Invitational in Fosston.
