    Ethan Mercil - Football
Head Coach Scott Butt says, “Ethan Mercil had 13 assisted tackles, one unassisted, and one sack against Perham. Ethan is a hard-working young man that has a nose for the football. He is always around the ball. Ethan never stops trying to get the job done, and he makes us a better football team when he is on the field.”

    Emma Dufault - Volleyball
Head Coach Lon Boike says, “Emma, a 5-foot-11 senior, has been doing a great job this year for the Pirates. She often plays several positions in the front row and has been a very steady and strong player. Emma has a great work ethic and has a great attitude! Her hitting statistics have been solid and she is a very good server. Emma was recently elected Homecoming Queen, and is a member of the Girls Track team!”

    Blake Brekken - Boys' Soccer
Blake is a senior forward for the Pirates, who adds tremendous speed to the team. He consistently beats opponents to loose balls. Blake has one of Crookston’s four goals this season and, with just three regular season matches remaining, will be a key player for the Pirates in the section tournament.

    Jessenia Argueta - Girls’ Soccer
Head Coach Sarah Reese says, “Argueta, an outside midfielder, is this week's Pirate of the Week. At the beginning of the season, Argueta started as a forward attacker, transitioned to center midfield and now finds herself as an outside midfielder. The outside midfielder position is a great match for her to date. She is versatile and transitions well from offense to defense and vice versa. Additionally, she uses the green space to carry the ball and is a great passer. She played exceptionally well on Saturday when we hosted Walker.”

    Haley Maki - Girls' Tennis
    Head Coach Mike
Geffre says, “Haley is another senior who has made great contributions to our tennis team this year. Haley is playing in her first year of varsity tennis and is 10-4 on the season. She always has a good attitude and is a good doubles partner. If she continues to work hard and improve she will be a key player for us at the section tournament.”

    Maddie Nicholls - Girls' Swimming
Head Coach Marley Melbye says, “This week’s Swimming Pirate of the week is Maddie Nicholls, the daughter of Dave and Stacey Nicholls. Maddie is dedicated to both swimming and school. She is been a strong competitor in the 100 breaststroke and the 50 freestyle all season and making great improvements. Maddie is also a natural leader on our team working to help the other newer girls on the team. I am excited to see her grow and become an even better athlete in the pool.”
