  • Crookston's four cross country runners, competing with the East Grand Forks team, competed in the 42nd annual Milaca Mega Meet Saturday in Milaca, Minn. with Andreas Geist finishing 40th out of 166 runners in the 5K race with a time of 17:48.

"Andreas ran against some of the toughest competitors in the state," East Grand Forks Coach Kristy Aune explained. "Milaca is the world’s largest high school cross country meet. There were 5,000 runners registered. Competing in such a large meet gives the athletes the 'state' experience."

Sarah Mykleseth finished the two-mile race with a time of 15:48, her first time under 16 minutes.
