  •     Investigators have made an arrest in the murder of a Thief River Falls woman, Tanya (Briggs) Kazmierczak, 40, a Crookston native.

Agents with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension early Monday evening arrested Jedidiah Dean Troxel, 31, of 116 North Nelson in Crookston without incident. The Pennington County Sheriff’s Office, Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Crookston Police Department and East Grand Forks Police Department assisted with the arrest, which reportedly took place in East Grand Forks.

Troxel is a suspect in the murder of Kazmierczak, whose body was found Sunday near the Red Lake River in Smiley Township in rural Pennington County. Kazmierczak, who lived on the 600 block of East Tonder Street in Thief River Falls, had been missing since early Saturday.

Troxel is in the Pennington County Jail. Formal charges are expected to be filed later Tuesday.
