The Polk County Sheriff’s Office has released information pursuant to Minnesota statute to the community of Erskine regarding a "Level 3 Predatory Offender" who will be moving to the Polk County city, and has scheduled a "Community Notification Meeting" for Thursday, Aug. 30 at 6:30 p.m. in the Erskine Community Center, located at 105 Ross Ave.
This offender, Lonnie Jerome Cote, is not wanted by the police and has served his sentence.
Cote will be moving to rural Erskine on Aug. 31. According to the PCSO, he has a history of engaging in sexual contact with female victims, ages 4 to 14. Contact included fondling and penetration. The offender was known to his victims.
Representatives from the PCSO, Minnesota Department of Corrections, Polk County Attorney’s office, and the Win-E-Mac School District will be in attendance at the meeting.
