It's Welcome Back Week at U of M, Crookston

With fall semester classes due to start next week, faculty and staff at the University of Minnesota, Crookston who aren't on 12-month contracts are back on campus, gearing up for the start of the 2012-13 academic year.

Student-athletes on Golden Eagle fall athletic teams have been on campus for a while, practicing and gearing up for their upcoming seasons.

At a welcome-back lunch for faculty and staff on Monday, Fred Wood, the new chancellor, delivered the keynote remarks in Bede Ballroom. For some in the room, it was the first time they'd met Wood, who comes to Crookston from the University of California-Davis.

There are department and staff level meetings scheduled for all week in advance of the crush of students.
