  •     It wasn't all fun and frivolity for some in Crookston during Ox Cart Days weekend, as activity reported by the Crookston Police Department would attest.

Minutes before 10:30 p.m. Friday, a vehicle was reported stolen from the residence at 209 Washington Ave. The responding officer was told that the vehicle's owners heard a door slam and tires screeching. The white Chevrolet Tahoe SUV with Minnesota license plate RUN648 was last seen traveling south on Washington Ave.

Sunday, the CPD was notified that the vehicle had been found and recovered on Stearns Street by its owner. A "Wild Bill" straw hat and some other items were recovered from the vehicle as well. It appeared the vehicle may have been driven through a field, as it had sustained some damage.
    Car crashes into Fleet Supply
There was more. Around 2 a.m. Saturday, the CPD received a report of a vehicle crashing into Fleet Supply on University Avenue. Responding officers found a white Oldsmobile Alero had smashed into the south wall of the sheet-steel structure, with most of the vehicle actually inside the store.

The driver, identified as Blaine Nicholas Fenno, 20, was found unconscious behind the wheel. He was taken to RiverView Hospital, where he woke up and became combative and uncooperative. He was subsequently transported to the Northwest Regional Corrections Center. Fenno is being charged with 3rd degree DUI and damage to property.

The wall at Fleet Supply was reported, at least on a temporary basis, later on Saturday.
