The tag-line accompanying this year’s Ox Cart Days Festival theme, “A Grand Ole Time,” is “Something for Everyone.” The Thursday events that kicked off the 2012 festival lived up to that billing, as big crowds came out for Thursday’s events, which returned to the Downtown Square and adjacent streets.
In all, 120 kids competed in the Kid Pedal Tractor Pull, eight teams raced in the RiverView Bed Races, and six bands played their best during the Battle of the Bands.
Friday kicked off with a huge crowd at the Fireman's Pancake Breakfast at the fire department, which also featured a big benefit bake sale for Cheryl Steinbrink, who's hospitalized in Fargo.
Check back throughout the weekend for more from the festival.
We have videos, too, but we're working out some glitches with the new video uploading system on our new website. They'll be up at some point. Thanks for your patience.
