Food industry marketing executives from the Philippines come to North Dakota to look at the state's hard red spring wheat crop.
Flour milling and food industry marketing executives from the Philippines are in North Dakota the next three days to get a firsthand look at the state's hard red spring wheat crop.
The North Dakota Wheat Commission says the Philippines is the second-largest export market for hard red spring, North Dakota's staple wheat crop. The country typically buys about 33 million bushels per year.
The group from the Philippines also is visiting Minnesota, Montana and Oregon. U.S. Wheat Associates official Joe Sowers says the delegation will use what it learns on the trip to help design new marketing campaigns to promote the consumption of wheat-based foods.
