  • The Stark County sheriff says Gov. Jack Dalrymple's decision to dismiss an attempt to oust him from office is proof that the system works.
Clarence Tuhy (TOO'-ee) says "everyone has learned" from the dispute, and he's planning now to stay on in his job. He's not sure if he will run for re-election in 2014.
The Stark County Commission asked Dalrymple to remove Tuhy from office. An investigator described him as a bully who was inconsistent in his treatment of employees.
There were arguments about Tuhy's training of deputies and his methods for buying sheriff's vehicles and sniper rifles.
A retired district judge who presided at a hearing on the case says Tuhy wasn't always diplomatic, but he didn't do anything to merit losing his job. And the governor agreed.
