  • OBITUARY: Diane Evenson Vaudrin

  • Age 66 of Westminster, Colo. died July 15, 2012. She leaves behind many relatives in the Crookston area.

  • Diane Lou was born the 9th of 10 children to Harold (Duke) and Minnie Evenson on December 20, 1945, in Cogswell, North Dakota. She lost her 3-year battle with cancer on July 15, 2012.
    Diane attended school in Cogswell and graduated from Sargent Central. She worked in Fargo and attended Interstate Business School. She was united in marriage to John Vaudrin on April 12, 1969, in Moorhead, Minnesota. They moved to California and lived in Anaheim, Chico, Mission Viejo and Woodland. Two children, Justin and Monique, were born and raised in California. In 1996, Diane and John moved to Westminster, Colorado. Diane worked at Mervyn’s department stores in both Woodland and the Denver Area.
    Diane enjoyed meeting people, vacationing at their time share in Florida and bowling. The most joy in her life came from her family, especially her grandchildren, Jace and Zack.
    She is survived by her husband of 43 years, John, her son, Justin (Amanda) of Parker, Colorado, daughter, Monique of Westminster, Colorado; and grandchildren Jace and Zack Vaudrin. Others survivors include, sisters, Dorine (Gene) McManus of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota; Delores Breker of Cayuga, North Dakota; Darline (Harry) Soberg of Fargo, North Dakota; Darlyes McQuay of Grand Forks, North Dakota; Caroline (Arvin) Herman of Maplewood, Minnesota; brothers Gerald (Joan) Evenson of Maple Plain, Minnesota; Arnold (Pam) Evenson of Grand Forks, North Dakota; a mother-in-law, Josephine “Jo” Vaudrin, Crookston, sisters-in-laws, Rosemary Vaudrin, Fargo, North Dakota, and Maureen Laughery of Crookston; brothers-in-law, Robert (Jeri) Vaudrin, Fargo, North Dakota, David Vaudrin, Fort Worth, Texas, Jerry Duphorn, Crookston and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Harold Evenson, Jr; sister, Eleanor Anderson, brothers-in-law, Ralph Breker, Dale McQuay, Dick Anderson, and James Vaudrin, sister-in-law, Mary Duphorn, and her father-in-law Leopold (Paul) Vaudrin.
    A memorial service was held at Olinger Highland Mortuary Chapel in Thornton, Colorado on July 18.
