The U of M, Crookston Teambackers held their 4th Annual Highway 2 Classic Golf Tournament on Saturday, July 28. Participants played nine holes at the Fosston Golf Club and nine holes at the Oak Lake Golf Course in Erskine, Minn. A total of 71 golfers participated in the 18-hole scramble which raised money to support student-athlete scholarships at Minnesota, Crookston.
“The UMC Teambackers would like to thank tournament hosts Fosston Golf Club and Oak Lake Golf Course and tournament sponsor Duffer’s Sports Bar and gift sponsor Erskine Iron and as all of the golfers that participated for making the 4th Annual Highway 2 Golf Classic a great event,” says UMC Director of Athletic Fundraising Bill Tyrrell.
“We would also like to thank club house sponsors Groceries Plus of Erskine, Ness Café, Erskine Echo, Erskine Oil, Sandberg Agency, KKCQ Radio, Lepier Oil, Fosston Dairy Queen American Federal Bank of Fosston and Golf Cars Plus of Fosston for all of their continued support,” Tyrrell adds.
The tournament championship was captured by the team of Mark Bagaason, Chris Westrum, Rocky Eck, Dan Lindom and Wayne Watkins.
