  • Crookston suffered a pair of tough losses in the American Legion District 9, Division II Tournament Friday and were eliminated from the tournament.
    On Friday morning in Fargo, Moorhead topped Crookston 6-4 thanks to a five-run fourth inning. Then, in the afternoon in Detroit Lakes, Detroit Lakes scored three in the top of the ninth inning to beat Crookston 9-8.
    Today, Moorhead faces Fergus Falls in the championship game.
    On Saturday, Perham beat East Grand Forks 12-2, then lost 10-0 to Moorhead. Moorhead then beat Fergus Falls 6-2

    Aaron Hollcraft pitched six innings, suffering the loss. He allowed three earned runs, five total, on three hits and three walks. Jake Perrine pitch two innings in relief and allowed a run.
    Dylan Klatt led Crookston at the plate, going 2 for 5. Alex Boone went 1 for 2 with three walks, a run scored and an RBI. Hollcraft and Adam Donarski each went 1 for 3 with an RBI.

    Donarski pitched a complete game, allowing five earned runs, nine total, on 11 hits and seven walks.
    Brandon Kresl went 3 for 5 with a run scored and an RBI to lead Crookston offensively. Hollcraft was 2 for 4 with three RBI and a run scored, while Perrine went 2 for 5 with two RBI.
