  • The Crookston Chamber and Visitors and the Red River Valley Growers Association hosted the annual Sugarbeet Golf Scramble recently at Minakwa Golf Course. A record 20 teams participated this year.

The event is a way for the Chamber to say thank you to local growers for the economic impact they have on our community. Proceeds from this event also allow the Chamber to award a scholarship each year to a U of M, Crookston athlete majoring in an Agricultural Degree.

Contestants also had two shots at winning $12,000 in Ag Chemical, Seed or Fertilizer on Hole #4. A few shots were close but no one sunk the shot.  Sponsors for the hole-in-one were: AgriMax, CHS Ag Services, Coauette Crop Services, Columbia Grain, Crookston Valley Co-op and Simplot Grower Solutions.
