The Crookston Legion baseball team throttled Badger/Greenbush-Middle River 24-6 Monday at Jim Karn Field. Josh Edlund, Dylan Klatt and Adam Donarski each had four hits in the game with Klatt driving in six runs.
Donarski earned the win on the mound for Crookston, pitching five innings and allowing one earned run, three total, on three hits, five walks and four hit batters. Jake Perrine pitched the final two innings, allowing one earned run, three total, on five hits and two walks.
Crookston jumped out to a 5-1 lead after the first inning and never looked back.
After B/G-MR posted a run in the top of the first, Edlund led off the bottom of the inning with a base hit and following a wild pitch, Joseph Hollcraft drove him home with a base hit but was later out on a fielder's choice.
Brandon Kresl then drew a walk, Kody Kawlewski reached on the fielder's choice and Alex Boone walked to load the bases. Klatt then brought them all home with a triple. Donarski drove in the fifth run with a base hit.
Crookston posted a seven-run third inning that gave it a 14-2 lead, a four-run fifth that gave it a 18-3 lead and a six-run sixth that gave it a 24-3 lead.
The Legion team will close out its regular season with a Detroit Lakes Tournament Friday through Sunday. The District 9 Tournament begins Wednesday, July 25.
