The Monday, July 16 agenda for the Crookston School Board includes a resolution to make Jeff Perreault Pirate girls' hockey co-head coach.
Perreault told the Times today he sat down with CHS Activities Director Don Donarski last week and accepted the position to be a co-head coach with Jeremy Lubinski, who has held that position for two years.
Perreault, the former Pirate boys' hockey head coach, replaces his brother-in-law, Tim Persson, who resigned after four years.
"It will be similar to what they had set up with Tim and Jeremy," Perreault told the Times. "We haven't really sat down and discussed all the roles with the coaching staff. I'm excited about helping out."
Perreault was a volunteer assistant coach for the Pirates last season and has been involved in the youth program since resigning as the boys' head coach.
"I think it was from the 1999-2000 season to the 2006-2007 season," Perreault said of his time as Pirate boys' head coach. "It was a good run; I enjoyed that. Since leading the boys I've coached the Squirt A's and PeeWee A's and started the Wednesday Night Lights program. I had the bug to get back at the high school level. It's a great program that has been successful and hopefully we can continue the success."
Perreault and Lubinski's assistants are Jaclyn Martin and Jaden Isakson.
