  • Crookston's Brooke Heggie, who recently finished her freshman year at CHS, was a member of the 14U North Tartan team that won the AAU Girls' Basketball National Tournament Tuesday in Kissimmee, Fla.

    The 6-foot-1 center and her North Tartan team beat a fellow Minnesota team, Metro Stars Black, in the championship game, 47-37.
    In the seven national tournament games, North Tartan outscored its opponents by an average of 58.8-31.7.
